The San Mateo Police Activities League (PAL) was developed in 1997 by a small group of Police officers and members of the community. Since its inception, San Mateo PAL has provided recreational, educational and leisure activities at little or no cost to thousands of youth in San Mateo, Foster City and surrounding cities. San Mateo PAL is an independent nonprofit organization, overseen by both the San Mateo Police Department and San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department. San Mateo PAL is a membership organization open to youth 5-18 years of age.  All PAL events are overseen by trained San Mateo police officers and staff.
