World's First Palestinian People's Museum in Washington D.C.

Open your Hearts to Open our Doors

Immigrants to the United States yearn for a space to tell their stories, yet for Palestinians there has been no such space. In fact, who we are has been told by others; until now. The Museum of the Palestinian People is here to tell our stories; stories that encompass the rich history, vibrant arts and culture, and spirit of a people who thrive even in the face of adversity.

Our Vision:

The Museum creates a future where we:

  • Co-author and celebrate diverse Palestinian stories under one roof, celebrating commonalities and culture while transcending fragmentation, separation and boundaries;
  • Evoke pride, dignity, and deep connection among Palestinians locally and around the world, and to impart to the next generation;

  • Entice visitors to open their hearts to connect with what unites us and be present to our common humanity;
  • Inspire others in the world to also share their stories beyond category or artificial distinctions;

The Progress to Date

Since 2014, The Museum of the Palestinian People (MPP) has organized a series of traveling exhibits that visited over 30 locations in the U.S. Today, the MPP is setting down its roots in Washington DC. It was founded to be a space where Palestinians get to tell their own stories in the heart of this nation, where visitors from around the U.S. and the world can engage with and share it. It’s an inspiring story of resilience and renewal.

We are so close to making this a reality by opening the Museum of Palestinian People, but we need your support! A generous donor donated a space in the heart of historic DuPont Circle, And we need additional support for renovation costs and to prepare our first exhibit!

Our immediate goal is to raise $200,000 to cover renovation costs, launch our first exhibit, and prepare a variety of cultural and community events to start conversations across borders and boundaries where visitors see Palestinians in new ways that surprise, delight, and move them.

Join us in laying the foundation for the museum!

This fundraising campaign will take place in three phases:

Phase 1

When we hit $100,000, we will be able to begin the renovating the space!

Phase 2

When we reach our $150,000 goal, we can begin installing exhibits in the new space.

Phase 3

When we hit $200,000, we will open our doors to the public!

(Naming opportunities are available for $5000+ gifts - We would love to honor you inside our space! Contact us for more info).
