Springwater Environmental Sciences School is the first public K-8 charter school in the Oregon City School District. We are located on a rural, five acre setting, surrounded by Metro property and agricultural land. Springwater provides a comprehensive and rigorous academic education that integrates science throughout the curriculum. Springwater teachers utilize inquiry, project–based learning, which develops critical thinking and analysis. Our goal is to create a community of learners where families, students and educators learn from each other, students are actively engaged in their education, and students recognize their role and responsibility to themselves, their neighbors and the planet.
Springwater achieved a gold-standard report card from the State of Oregon this past academic year, earning the only level 5 report card in the Oregon City School District! We are proud of our students, our teachers, the administrators and families that made our success possible.
Springwater's success is due in great part to our parent and family volunteers. Last year our families logged 5000+ hours of volunteer time helping in classrooms, with the artist-in-residence program, during Friday Field Study, along with many other special events.
