4word: Chicago Christmas Open House & Gift Drive

4word Chicago invites you to celebrate the joy of empowerment at our Christmas open house on Wednesday, December 13th, 5:30 – 8:00pm.

This year we’ve talked about authenticity and living our purpose. We’ve seen God’s hand at work near and far. In May we learned about the inspirational rebuilding of Rwanda through women there. In September, we reflected on being who God created us to be, by hearing from local women living authentically. In our monthly breakfasts we’ve listened to God’s voice and taken steps to grow personally and spiritually. Through it all we are building a beautiful community of career-minded Christian women in and around the city of Chicago.

We are excited to continue empowering each other and others at our Christmas open house by partnering with two organizations in December.

New Moms, in the Austin neighborhood, shares God’s love by supporting young mothers, helping to break the cycle of poverty. We’ll hear from Laura Zumdahl, Ph.D., president and CEO of New Moms. Laura is dedicated to serving women and children in poverty. Laura has extensive nonprofit experience, and was named one of the “40 Under 40” by the Association Forum of Chicagoland. 

Please bring a gift for a mother or a child to stock the New Moms “Christmas store.” A list of suggested items can be found here, or a purchase can be made from the New Moms Amazon wish list here. The Skipping Stone sells beautiful jewelry, journals, and other accessories, and helps women in India live independently and escape human trafficking and poverty. We’ll also hear from The Skipping Stone’s Julie Wyant about how the organization changes lives. The Skipping Stone will have items for sale at the event.

We hope you will take time to learn about the ministries of these organizations, find out how God is empowering women around the world, and celebrate a successful year with 4word: Chicago!

Additional Details: Location is 1 block south of the Chicago red line stop (entrance on Superior between State and Dearborn). Parking is available in the building for $28. Some metered street parking also available.
