The Eastside Cooperative Preschool is a 501(c)3 started in 1962 and is one of 4 parent cooperatives that partner with South Puget Sound Community College's Parent Education Program. ECP provides enriching and flexible preschool programs where young children and parents learn together in the classroom. Children build relationships and explore the world in a safe, nurturing environment while parents gain a support network, a reperatoire of parenting techniques and lasting friendships all while being directly involved in the education of their children.
The Eastside Coop Preschool needs a facility that will ensure a long-term future for the preschool and the parent education programs that we have provided to the Olympia area community for over 50 years. In 2013 ECP entered a two-year lease with the Olympia School District for a portable at a local elementary school. The lease is set to end in June 2015 and will not be renewed due to the OSD's increasing space needs. Prior to the current location, the OSD provided ECP with a site for 23 years on Boulevard Rd. A new facility will allow us to continue to teach children and their parents in a welcoming and educational environment while maintaining low costs and our committment to families of all backgrounds and needs.
